Candidates who are successful in the assessment process and pass the written assessment and interview, will be considered hired as an officer cadet in the Officer Training Program. Not all candidates who are successful in the assessment process will be selected to join the Officer Training Program. There are many applicants and a limited number of spots available.

Conditional letters of offer

What is a conditional letter of offer?

A conditional letter of offer is an employment offer where the employer requires completion of conditions before they can finalize the contract.

An applicant who is selected to the Officer Training Program will receive a conditional letter of offer. A conditional letter of offer means we reserve a spot for you in the program; however, you still need to meet certain conditions.

Official letters of offer

What is an official letter of offer?

An official letter of offer is a formal document to a candidate who has been selected for a job position. It includes specific job details such as start date, salary, benefits and other employment conditions, procedures and policies.

An official letter of offer means that you have been accepted into either the Marine Navigation or Marine Engineering program. It means that you have met all the conditions:

You will be provided with the official letter of offer for your signature, and various documentation to prepare for your arrival. It is extremely important to complete the documentation in a timely manner.

Travel preparation to the ÍæÔ˲ʼ´Ê±±È·Ö College

Shortly after you sign your official letter of offer, you will be contacted by a travel agent to walk you through the steps of relocating to the ÍæÔ˲ʼ´Ê±±È·Ö College. It is recommended that you do not arrange your own travel to the college until you have spoken to the travel agent.

In addition to college admissions, you will also be in contact with the Superintendent of Officer Cadets’ department in regards to your travel to the college. This will allow them to be ready for your arrival.

The start of the Officer Training Program

Orientation week will begin the last Monday in the month of August. Your 45-months of consecutive training in your program of choice will start the first week of September.

Upon graduation

Your employment with the ÍæÔ˲ʼ´Ê±±È·Ö Fleet will begin upon graduation.

Graduation takes place the first weekend of June in your fourth year. After graduation you will start your employment as an officer on one of the ÍæÔ˲ʼ´Ê±±È·Ö vessels.
